Why Custom Packaging Takes 25 Working Days — And Why It's Worth the Wait

🎬 Watch our short video explaining the process:

When you order custom printed packaging from BPA, you're not just buying a bag — you're commissioning a manufactured product built specifically for your brand. Here's exactly why it takes 25 working days, and what's happening behind the scenes during that time.

🎨 Step 1: Design & Artwork Approval (Days 1–3)

Every custom packaging order starts with your artwork. Our team reviews your design files, checks print specifications, and prepares the artwork for production. If adjustments are needed — color corrections, bleed areas, resolution fixes — we handle them at this stage. This step requires your approval before anything moves forward. Rushing it risks costly errors on the final product.

🖨️ Step 2: Plate or Cylinder Making (Days 4–7)

For rotogravure printing (used for large runs), engraved cylinders must be manufactured — one per color. For digital printing (HP Indigo 25K), plates and calibration are prepared. This is a precision manufacturing process that cannot be rushed without compromising print quality.

⚙️ Step 3: Printing (Days 8–12)

Once plates or cylinders are ready, your bags go to press. The printing process itself involves multiple passes for color layering, drying time between layers, and quality checks at every stage to ensure color accuracy and consistency across your entire order.

🏗️ Step 4: Lamination & Structure (Days 13–17)

After printing, the film goes through lamination — bonding multiple material layers together (e.g., PET/PA/PE) to create the final high-barrier structure. This process requires curing time to ensure the layers bond correctly and the packaging meets food safety standards.

✂️ Step 5: Cutting, Sealing & Finishing (Days 18–22)

The laminated rolls are then cut and formed into the final bag shape — whether that's a 3D flat bottom bag, a Diamond shape pouch, or a 3-Side Seal bag. Zippers, valves, and other features are added at this stage. Each batch is inspected for defects before packing.

📦 Step 6: Quality Control & Packing (Days 23–25)

Before your order ships, every batch goes through a final quality control check — dimensions, seal strength, print accuracy, and food safety compliance. Your order is then packed and prepared for dispatch.

📅 Plan Ahead — Order Before You Run Out

The most common mistake businesses make is waiting until they're almost out of stock before reordering. With a 25-working-day production cycle, we recommend placing your next order when you have 30–35 days of stock remaining.
